Dear ShowCamp Family,
After careful review of available information relating to the impact of the coronavirus and COVID-19, it is with deep sadness that we have decided to cancel our Summer 2020 season, including all programs, sessions, and performances. The health and safety of our camp community is (and always will remain) paramount within our work and has guided us to making this difficult decision. We are heartbroken as we recognize the significant impact this will have on our kids, their families and our beloved arts community.
In any given summer, talented students, staff, and faculty come together to collaborate in an intimate teaching-learning environment and, even with the most stringent protocols and screenings, we cannot fully mitigate risk at this time given the many factors that are beyond our control.
Nevertheless, our Creative Team has considered a variety of scenarios in processing this decision, including delayed start dates and curtailing specific sessions. But because of the uncertainty of school recovery calendars, state and federal mandates related to health and safety, and unknown challenges we determined that the factors beyond our control far outweighed what we could manage effectively. A delayed start would likely delay -- not eliminate -- these complications.
We will be offering full refunds on all tuition or deposits that have been made and will process these as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and support during this challenging time for our nation and world.
For 22 summers, ShowCamp has set the stage for young artists to grow, express, connect, support one another, bridge friendships, and build life-long skills through this incredible theatre family. We have no intention of stopping now. We are devastated that we will not have the opportunity to share the ShowCamp spirit with you this summer. But we are prepared to meet this challenge head-on, creatively, and with our future campers in mind every step of the way. We are already counting the days until we see you next summer... until then stay safe.
